Disarm, Fumble and Irongrip

Postby Dave M » Wed Sep 10, 2014 9:45 am

Was looking in the rule books a while back and noticed some discrepancies between how I 'thought' these skills/spells worded and how they are currently written.

I thought disarm only worked on 1 handed weapons, but it currently seems to work on two-handers too.

Iron grip currently doesn't work with 1-handers, only 2 handed weapons (I think Bess has Iron grip, , and I'm pretty sure Kyle has it, and they only wield 1 handers)

Thanks for the interigation
Iron grip - copy and paste error from glancing blow when formatting was tweaked - it should work on all weapons

Disarm - I use to think this as well, I believe the discrepancy came from what was written down wasn't the rule that was advised to people/a person and the verbal was passed around believing it to be correct (I've gone back into the archive its never been single handed only)

btw please do raise things that are different than you thought, there are some assumptions that don't meet what the rules are, but similarly the books this time didn't get quite as good proof read.

Regarding disarm I feel how it has been generally interpreted by word of mouth is the right way.

I have (as far as I know) the only character to have heavily invested in disarm, and I personally like that it doesn't work on two handers. It makes sense.

I think it should be defined as an object held in one hand (e.g. a mage with a spear is casting a ranged spell, I can disarm the staff they must hold in their off-hand in order to cast the spell).

for now disarm will be corrected the copy and paste error but any rules changes wont be done till the year end so for now at least it remains 1 or two handed weapons
