changing the multiplier affects the high ranks far more anyway Rob, so combat level stuff will stay cheap.

Here are the tables with the new values:

I've made three tiers of items as requested. I still feel as there are guild related restrictions in any case, it would be better to limit purist/specialist sect items to their own school/sec and not price them so much higher.

I'm going to try and get some time to look over the new sheet this week.
From a presentation point of view as additional charges are flat rate after the first (unless I missed something) do you think having
1 charge | 2 charge | 3 charge | 4 charge
is better or
1 charge | additional charges

Just list it I think, then you can more easily look and compare priced for things

Right looking at your costs you've dropped the cost across the board rather than put in a raise on the temp items....

Also it would be worth putting in ink costs because this will make a massive difference to them if you can buy a premade rank 0 scroll for a few dragons the ink should be less

I guess I didn't make it clear we were looking at sect/primary school prices in the second image I posted, and standard items in the first image.  The google doc hasn't changed except in minor ways.   Do you feel the tables in the google doc are too low?

Re scroll paper and inks, I am not entirely sure how it works (I asked Katie once, but then alchohol happened and I can't remember what she said):

According to the draft shopping book:

It costs 80 gold for level 10 inks and then 20% (12 dragons) to have a scroll made (so 92 total for a spell).  It is unclear if that price includes the scroll paper.  It says grade 2 scroll paper costs 200 dragons, so I'm not sure how this fits into the equation...

So a Rank 100 character with make inks can pay 12 dragons (+scroll paper cost?) for a level 10 scroll (or make it for free if they know it themselves?)

A rank 100 character with write scroll can buy inks for 80 (+scroll paper cost?) and then its free?

scroll paper costs, always that's separate from inks, but you don't need scroll paper for stand inks
you cant write arcane/cosmic with Standard Inks, when you have make inks you make standard inks

In the equipment book its 60 for a level 10 or 65 for power rank 10 (don't know where you were looking)
then the paper 200 for grade 2 (but its kept for ever)
and 20% ink cost if you want it written for you.

Hence why I think it needs a proper look into along with the other things or the prices will get screwy for that too.

Ill look at numbers again soon

Yes I totally missed the comment in 2nd picture saying it was 2nd tier, my comments were based off thinking that was the 1st level pricing and once that had been posted I referenced that rather than the 1st picture as comparison.

Looking at the spread sheet the 1st tier prices are far too low, the 2nd tier are what id expect for the first tier.

Using 2nd tier as base:
I would still boost potion cost over scroll by 1-2 dragons across the lower level which would probably have a slight effect on the temp costs to keep it spread, I just don't think there is quite the differentiation between scroll and potion that there should be

OK I've made some changes based on what you said. I took 'far too low' to mostly refer to temporary item costs, as I think permanent item costs were well balanced especially at higher ranks.

I added a fixed price aspect to scrolls/potions/temporary items, to ensure they were always slightly more expensive than each other. (this slightly increased prices for potions/temp items across the board). I also added a little extra onto the fixed permanent item price to keep them higher than temp items for low rank spells.

I also increased the cost of tier 1 by about 10% across the board.

Now the scroll paper cost makes sense.

I know where the 80 came from - the 80%. Got myself muddled there.

I say make ink costs fixed at just below the cost of a standard (tier 1) item scroll (whatever it turns out to be) Standard scrolls are super cheap (even free at rank 0-1) if you provide the inks, but tier 2/3 scrolls and self only scrolls end up more expensive.

e.g. ink costs (based prices on my latest spreadsheet effort):
