Webmonkey's Blog - Episode 4

So, as many of you will have noticed, the last couple of weeks have been busy in the development of the website - not running every other event has left the webmonkey with alltogether too much time on his hands and bizarrely dexterous feet...
We now have a team of 'Content Creators', who have been busily updating and writing all the new content which you are beginning to see going up all over the site. Nice examples of this is the explanations of LARP events () and the explanation of LARP combat () which Dave has busily written for us. Nice work Content Creators!
In addition to this, the events page is now mostly working - all the user side stuff is working, just a few admin side things to get properly working and The Events page will be sorted!
The Webmonkeys have also got to grips with Social Media integration on the site, and you will now notice that all content has Social Media sharing features, such as nice short URLs which highlight themselves when you click them, and Facebook/Twitter/Google Plus buttons in case you want to share content with your friends.
There's also a whole host of new stuff under the hood of the site, including far better meta description, meta keyword and canonical URL code to keep search engines happy, and some efficiency changes including use of some new MYSQL features...
The war against the spammers continues unabated - we now have close to 1500 IP addresses blocked in the IP banlist but they just keep coming! BRING IT ON SPAMBOTS!
