New Feature: Social Media

OK, so the source of all the cloak and dagger stuff over the last few days can now be revealed... Please say hello to our new Social Media integration on the events pages! We have Facebook share buttons, Twitter share buttons and a Google Plus share buttons, all glistening and ready for you to share our events with the people on your various social media... Check them out on the events pages here: http://www.heroesandheroines.org/heroes ... events.php

But that's not the uber-geek-cool thing that the webmonkeys have been getting all agitated about... The coolest bit is out custom URL shortening, courtesy of larp.in - something that no other LARP Group can boast (mainly because I own larp.in!)

URL shortening allows a long URL like http://www.heroesandheroines.org/heroes ... -home.html to be shortened to http://larp.in/e101 which is much easier to paste into social media etc... It's something which none of the other clubs are yet on top of, and something which we need to start showing off!

Just a note: all of these features are REALLY new, so there's bound to be problems! Let me know (praticularly with the Google Plus button, because due to problems between my ISP Virgin Media and Google I can't currently use Google Plus, so can't check if it works or not!)

So, go share like crazy people! :)

Hello Seb,

Call me old-fashioned but what would really light my fire is getting some of the content from the old version of the site up and running in your super-whizzy-high tech new version of the site.

Some examples:
Home tab - Any chance you could fill that in with the content from the old site?
Club/Rules - Can you put the rule books into this tab? With a bit of blurb maybe?
Links - We used to have loads of links to LARP equipment sites...can you put them back in?

and then on the forums:
Can you port over the guild information from the other tabs. Especially structures and names of guild heads...

Pretty please?

Oh yeah...and Angel wanted to be allowed let into the Hospital....

Yeah... In all the excitement of shiney coding I often forget that we need CONTENT to go with the shiney shiney code... :)

Homepage is now up with content copied over... I'll do your other suggestions when I get a moment!

In other news, I will soon be recruiting some content creators... :)
